Report: Rejected UFC 200 Brock Lesnar Opponents

Whilst Mark Hunt, the man chosen to be sacrificed at the alter of PPV buys at UFC 200 as Brock Lesnars opponent, is a fine fighter and enough of a name in MMA circles to make the fight legitimate, he was not the first choice of shiny-headed matchmaker Dana White. A leaked email from the UFC chief to owners - the brothers Fertitta, revealed that the original plans were quite different.


Noting that the enormous success of tiny Irishman Conor MacGregor was less to do with his fighting abilities and more to do with his ability to create a grudge or ‘storyline’ for his matches, White felt they should do the same for UFC 200, otherwise it will be a card filled with “colorless a-holes and that blond chick champion who ain’t Ronda” (Holly Holm) “Nobody’s gonna want to pay for that”


White added “we have a relationship with (Vince) McMahon now, lets exploit if. Everyone wants Brock to win so lets put him in with another wrestler, it will be gold”
He then went on to list a number of names that have history with Lesnar, and the relative pro’s and cons of each

Bob Holly
Pros: Real heat going back years.
Cons: maybe too old? Neck problems? Also, who is Bob Holly?


Mark Mero 
Pros: Legit boxing skills, Lesnar married to his ex-wife so great story.
Cons: Have you seen Rena Mero-Lesnar lately? Mark lost the battle but definitely won the war there. May want to bring confetti gun into octagon. Do UFC rules cover that?


Undertaker
Pros: Big guy, dresses like 80% of our fans, devils gate finishers is bad ass.
Cons: Old as sh*t, has trouble walking, would insist on putting a roof on the octagon so he can chokeslam Brock through it so increased production costs.


Seth Rollins
Pros: Pinned Brock at a big PPV before, good talker. Con Might need it to be a three way fight so he can come in at the end, is in a much lower weight class - closer to Ronda Rousey size. Maybe that’s a possibility for UFC 202?


Ronda Rousey
Pros: Our biggest star so guaranteed money. Con Contemplated suicide after blonde chick kicked her in the face so what would she do after Lesnar pulversises her? Genocide? That would be bad press for the company so close to being sold. That said, the likely buyer is Chinese so genocide mass slaughter may not be seen as such a negative?

The only person that White failed to list any Pro’s for was HHH.
